Our story...

"The Daily Jolt" is a network composing of college students around the country working to create a college-specific website. The website is a start page that has everything a relevant to a college student -- a news bulletin board, upcoming events on and off-campus, a forum, movie and TV listings, a food guide, online marketplace, and important links for campus resources and for entertainment.

Project Jolt started at Amherst College and has spread to over 100 universities around the country. The success of the sites can be attributed to the fact that each Daily Jolt site is run by students at that school. Its members work together to innovate the design of the site as well as to tailor the content to each college. The fact that the members are students also means they are flexible and open to feedback. Because each Daily Jolt site is created and run by actual college students, the site is actually useful, interesting, and easy-to-use.

At UMBC, Pablo Lizondo runs the site. He's looking for more partners! The UMBC Daily Jolt was born fall 2000; the site has received enthusiastic responses from the administration, professors, students, and especially incoming freshman =P
